mechanical keyboards - stuff tech bros like

2. Mechanical Keyboards

When you’re a senior-level engineer, you’ve got no time for excessive keyboard keys and ergonomics.

All you need is the rhythm of the clickity-clack…and all your coworkers within earshot will know you’re in coding flow: do not disturb. Heck, you might even inspire a little in-office keyboard drum circle with fellow high performers.

Every tech bro loves a good mechanical keyboard. But it can’t be just any keyboard. For the real alpha, you’ll want a blank keyboard.

Like Caine in Kung Fu, or Luke obliterating the death star with his eyes closed…you don’t need to look at your keyboard to crush that algorithm. Hence, just forgo those superfluous key labels. Another side benefit of a blank keyboard…it’ll deter the junior devs from putting their newb hands on it.

Also, the smaller the keyboard, the more impressive. Yes, size matters. But it’s inversely proportional when it comes to mechanical keyboards. We recommend the 60% keyboards. This will show everyone you’re a wiz at Vim shortcuts, and that minimalism is the key to focus (pun intended).

For the uninitiated, you can get the bigger size, but no bigger than the TKL(tenkeyless). That num pad is for the bean counters in accounting.
